Support Worker Jobs

Support worker jobs and vacancies are available across the UK. As a support worker or support officer you will work within social housing to work with tenants who also need care and support because of ill health or another disadvantage.  Many housing associations were set up specifically to work with groups who have support needs – not just for somewhere to live, but for help with running their daily lives.  As a support worker in social housing you may work with elderly people, people with mental health issues, young people who have grown up in institutional care, people who use drugs or alcohol, adults with learning difficulties, ex-offenders and asylum seekers/refugees

As well as providing housing management services, as a support worker you may provide emotional and practical support to the tenants to enable them to lead ‘normal’ lives, or for care-leavers and ex-offenders, to help them resettle back into society.

As Supported Housing Officer you will need experience as a Housing Officer as well as in dealing with vulnerable clients.
