A Rail Buyer is responsible for ensuring that the materials or sub-contract services required for projects are provided to schedule and according to projected budgets. This is a vital part in helping to ensure the profitability of contracts.

Construction buyers deal with the purchasing of sub-contract services, materials & equipment, including pre-contract & post contract and analysis & negotiation of purchase orders. Duties can also include participating in the development of some management strategies including logistics, issuing materials to contractors and environmental considerations.

You will need to be qualified with a strong background in construction, Civil Engineering or M&E and have experience of purchasing sub-contract services. The suitable candidate will need to have had proven negotiation skills in a construction environment.
