Enforcement Jobs

Enforcement jobs and vacancies available across the UK: Town Planning Enforcement teams investigate alleged breaches of policy planning and development control, including public complaints, tree preservation and breaches of conservation policy. For example if a development has gone ahead without the required permission of the local council then this is when the Planning Enforcement Department will get involved. Much depends on the nature of the development and its effect on neighbours. If the council considers that the development involves a breach of planning control, it may take remedial enforcement action. 

Day to day jobs may include investigations of breaches, managing complaints, site inspections, reporting writing and correspondence with the public and local council.  You may be asked to collect information or evidence for prosecution and serve enforcement notices.  You may either work alone with the DC planning team in smaller councils or be part of an actual enforcement team in larger councils town planning departments.
