The Development Plan/LDF (Local Development plan) sets out policies for the use of land in the public interest, enabling development whilst protecting the environment. It therefore influences the quality of life of those living, working and visiting an area.
Policy Officers would prepare and present information and written and oral evidence as an expert witness on behalf of the council at public local inquiries, examinations, hearings and written appeals as required.
An Assistant Planner would undertake research to inform planning and regeneration strategies and reports, and would prepare written statements in support of major planning applications.
A Planning Technician is a beginner or graduate role. Usual tasks include production of maps, plans and or other illustrative material. You may also undertake data capture and manipulation in connection with the service's GIS requirements.
