Salvation Army Housing Association (SAHA) is a charitable national registered social landlord specialising in providing supported accommodation, education and employment opportunities for homeless individuals and families. The association aims to help and support vulnerable groups in society in achieving positive, stable independent living.
As a registered social landlord, SAHA is a free-standing and independent organisation. Their principal partner is The Salvation Army.
Since 1976, SAHA's aims have broadened out to provide rented accommodation for single homeless people and couples, homeless families and elderly people. SAHA employs Wardens and Housing Support Workers at some of these schemes to provide various degrees of assistance, as required by the tenants and residents.
There are now more than forty residential centres that have principally been provided through our partnership with The Salvation Army. SAHA provides new development and a quality assurance monitoring service, whilst The Salvation Army is contracted by SAHA to provide support services in our residential centres.
SAHA has also developed foyers and directly managed supported and general needs housing. The Association’s turnover is £31m, of which £26m relates to work with The Salvation Army in respect of residential centres.
