The League Against Cruel Sports
|

The League Against Cruel Sports is a highly successful campaigning organisation opposed to all cruelty to animals in the name of sport. In February 2005, after eighty years of campaigning, the Hunting Act was passed making it illegal to hunt wild mammals with dogs in England and Wales. The task now is to ensure the Act is enforced by using the League’s Prosecution Unit and its network of monitors, who are working countrywide to oversee the activities of the hunts. Hunting is not the only sport in which animals are subjected to unnecessary suffering in the name of human entertainment. The League has begun campaigning globally to work towards the abolition of bullfighting. All bullfighting is barbaric and the League is seeking a complete end to bullfighting, wherever it takes place. We also campaign for a total ban on the manufacture, sale and use of all snares which are intrinsically linked to the cruelty within the commercial shooting industry. If you want to make a difference and are dedicated to animal welfare, working for the League would be ideal for you. Vegetarianism is not required. Eden Brown regularly recruits for The League Against Cruel Sports, if you would like to contact charities@edenbrown.com with your CV and what you are looking to do and one of our specialist consultants will be in touch.
