Job description

An leading public sector organisation are currently in search for a Head of Maintenance to run the department. The position will report into the CEO and have line manager responsibility for two senior technical members of staff and an administration function that supports the team. Your role will include the following duties and responsibilities:

- Work with the Council's Procurement Team to produce all contract documentation and drawings for all procured schemes.

- Maintain stock condition data and co-ordinate and manage the delivery of the annual capital investment works in housing stock from identification of capital investment needs to gaining planning and building control approvals and contract managing the delivery of each scheme from start to completion within the financial year to budget.

- Manage all Occupational Therapist referrals for major adaptation including the accurate specification of work, preparation of drawings and completion of works within individual specified targets.

- Manage, monitor and control all budgets relating to asset management, responsive and cyclical repairs and maintenance

- Monitor and develop the performance of all cyclical and responsive repairs and maintenance contracts, and ensure that plans and strategies are in place to ensure that all key performance indicators are met and maintained produce KPI performance data and contract information for monthly board meetings and attend meetings out of working hours.

- Be responsible for coordinating all CDM requirements and as required fulfil the Client duties and the Principal Designer duties specified within the Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations 2015.

- Manage strategies to reduce insurance and disrepair claims to ensure premiums are kept to a minimum. Coordinate and respond to legal correspondence as required to defend claims.

You will also Deputise for the Chief Executive as required taking delegated authority with the Head of Governance during periods of absence.
