Job description

We are recruiting for a CCTV operator to work in Bootle. You be responsible for the control and monitoring of all CCTV and Door Entry systems within a control room environment. You will need the appropriate SIA license.

The control room will operate on a 12-hour shift pattern covering 24 hours, 7 days per week

You will ensure an effective, helpful and courteous service is provided whilst maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through the provision of a 24 hour monitoring service from the Central Control Centre.

To monitor activities in and around buildings covered by CCTV and where necessary report all unauthorised activities to the appropriate agency such as the police and ensure that the action taken is recorded in the appropriate log book.

To remotely monitor any other locations to help prevent vandalism or other damage to maintain the integrity of the buildings.

To maintain up to date records and log books of all incidents recording the action taken as soon as possible after the event. To keep all logs up to date so that the following shift staff and CCTV Team Leaders are aware of the issue and any further action that may need to be taken.

To regularly check cameras, monitors, touch screens, door entrance and other equipment, and report any faults identified immediately to the CCTV Supervisor for appropriate action to be taken.

To provide a comprehensive reception service for visitors, trades people, emergency services etc.

To deal with general enquiries either by telephone, or by any other means, referring them to the appropriate agency for support, advice, assistance or for any action to be taken.

To report people trapped in lifts to the appropriate authority and provide support to those trapped until they can be freed by the Lift Engineers, or any other emergency service.

To ensure the security of the control room is maintained at all times and that all visitors are monitored and movements recorded in the appropriate visitor's book.

To carry out a weekly check of the intercom system for all identified vulnerable tenant by contacting them on the intercom system and recording appropriately. To report any identified faults to the Team Leader for the necessary action.

To carry out a selective check of intercom systems to include all blocks as designated by the Team Leader and report any faults found to the Supervisor.

To complete accurate incident reports and logs for the purpose of resolving Anti-Social Behaviour issues and make those records available

To assist in the induction process and on the job training of new starters on acquired job skills, procedural rules and practices, office and technical systems, and in the use of technical equipment.

To assist the Team Leaders / CCTV Manager and other managers to respond to all enquiries concerning the CCTV service.

On a weekly basis, to update and maintain all computer, video and audio databases and submit to the supervisor.

To adhere with section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.
