Job description

An award winning property developer in Worcestershire with a reputation for quality and attention to detail are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor.
The company are based in Worcestershire have were established more than 10 years ago.
The company specialise in creating new homes converting listed buildings, barn and manor houses into luxury apartments and houses.

There is a requirement for a QS, specifically to assist with the management of the pre-contract section of the business, but also to have a post contract role on some developments.

-You will be required to provide your expertise on numerous projects ranging from £250k to £5m
-Working on refurbishment developments mostly in the residential sector
-Work independently to reasonable timescales and with attention to detail.
-Sub contractor procurement
-Attend Client meetings
-Where needed you will guide and advise staff on contractual issues
-Responsible for the procedures for certification of contract payments for sub-contractors

Candidate needs to be suitably experienced and able to work independently, specific ability to include:

- Cost planning and budget estimating - including measurement
- Identifying and issuing packages for costing
- Procurement of sub-contract packages and negotiating with sub-contractors
- Management of direct labour
- Management of plant and material purchase/hire
- Ability to analyse the programme for the works and control procurement to suit the programme
- Liaison with design team to make sure design information is available as required to meet procurement programme

There will also be an element of post-contract work, including:

- Management of sub-contract packages, including interim valuations and final account agreement
- Remeasurement for post contract variations
- Pricing post contract variations
- Management of dispute resolution, including making sure adequate records are kept to support claims etc.
- Provide monthly cost reporting etc

-It is a pre-requisite you have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor
-You must be someone who can work independently and manage multiple projects at a time
-Ideally you will have experience in Residential new build or refurbs
-Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent

Salary circa £48000 plus + car allowance+ Pension + Healthcare
