Job description

Our client is a privately owned construction business located in Newark. Due to growth they are seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their busy and driven team of surveyors. They work on diverse collaborative schemes and boast many standard and bespoke industry contracts to their portfolio. Contracts will vary from £150,000 to over £12Million.


- To assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids and tenders
- To assist in the development of the procurement programme
- To assist in the preparation and monitoring of cash flow forecast for designated projects
- Prepare monthly valuation reports for the business
- Submit invoices for certified value and ensure payments are received on time
- Liaise with Contract Managers to establish the project specification and requirements
- Liaise with Contractors, Suppliers and the Client to establish project specification and requirements
- Attend and contribute to meetings with work colleagues and or Clients/Customers when necessary
- Monitor the contract progress, assess and report any changes that may affect project costs and or time scale
- Assist in the control of individual contract budgets
- Ensure all necessary contract documentation / reports are accurate and produced on time

Education, skills and Qualifications

- BSc Quantity Surveying Degree
- The desire and enthusiasm to learn and develop skills to become a full experienced Quantity Surveyor
- Excellent IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office
- A good knowledge of Maths is essential
