Job description

Are you a Building Surveyor based in Essex? Are you looking for work closer to home? Are you a surveyor with extensive knowledge of domestic construction/ repair?

My client is looking for a Building Surveyor to join their Property Services team on a fixed term contract until July 2020 based in Southend!

You should be able to:

  1. To apply professional and technical knowledge to ensure a high quality, value for money service to all EHA customers and stakeholders.
  2. To contribute fully and effectively to the resolution of residents' concerns, complaints and enquiries to ensure effective communication, resolution and customer satisfaction
  3. Manage service providers to deliver a high quality, responsive service within agreed service standards. Deliver services to time and budget.

Your main tasks are:

  1. To carry out pre-inspections, building and stock condition surveys to identify defects and future investment requirements, including the preparation of detailed reports, specifications and cost estimates where necessary to ensure the appropriate remedial works are undertaken.
  2. To ensure all planned, cyclical and responsive repair works are valid and appropriate, provide value for money and are completed within the allocated budget provision, ensuring contract administration good practice, timely processing of variations and all appropriate contract documentation and accurate keeping of records pertaining to work in progress.
  3. To undertake post inspections of completed works to ensure quality, compliance with the Schedule of Rates, value for money and statutory compliance. Ensuring compliance with contractual term and driving performance to achieve KPI's targets and expenditure within the designated budget provision.
