Job description

My client a large Social Housing provider a looking for a Development Manager , to oversee existing projects on a Full time FTC basis.

Job Purpose

Effectively project manage a range of development schemes from inception to completion, within approved parameters.

Manage and deliver a portfolio of projects, including managing consultants, resources, activities and information to ensure schemes are delivered on time and within budget.

Key areas of responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and developers,

Develop new opportunities and leads to maintain the delivery of new affordable homes across the operational area.Prepare feasibility/viability appraisals for Development Project Review Panel (DPRP) and/or Board Approval.Prepare and present reports on schemes, as required, to meet defined deadlines, in line with the procedures to the DPRP.

Using appropriate project management methodology, ensure risks are identified and managed appropriately, and objectives and benefits are achieved within budget, within time, and to the required standard.

Effectively manage schemes from inception to completion, following policies and procedures, including, but not limited to:Preparation of new files file maintenance Instructing internal and external members of the project team in all areas of the scheme, including:

Ground/site investigation Availability of services

Checking wayleaves and easements Architects.

Planning consultants Valuations Legal teams Tendering for employer's agents, clerk of works, contractors.

The person

The affordable housing sector and/or new build housing development- Proven project management experience- Housing related business development (or relevant experience from other market sector backgrounds)- Assembling and presenting competitive bids for new business opportunities.
