Project / Programme & Works Manager - Estates and Facilities Management c£40,000 London

A new opportunity has arisen for a dynamic driven and proactive Works Manager to join this leisure & sports management company in one of London s iconic stadium venues / portfolios.

The Role

This is a hugely exciting project management opportunity with the role responsible for the lifecycle and capital works programmes in including scheduling and communication with key stakeholders across the company and wider portfolio, from scope/specification stage through to delivery. The projects cover the venues and parkland which have bespoke designs and this role will shape the lifecycle updates helping us to maintain the legacy the venue

Reporting to the Head of Contract Management this role would act as a first point of contact for suppliers and contractors, managing works and contractor activities across the estate as well as providing a full range of co-ordination support to the Estate and Park Management team. The role will work closely with the Estates and Facilities Management contractor.
- Manage the Lifecycle Works programme including
- producing a programme for all works from conception through procurement to completion.
- setting up appropriate governance processes and managing these.
- manage input from colleagues and incumbent contractors required to develop detailed specifications, deliver Works Information documents.
- act as lead for the procurement of all lifecycle works in line with financial regulations
- manage the delivery and have responsibility as project manager for associated capital budget expenditure as agreed per project in the Project Initiation process.
- reporting and records management for programme board, coordination group and finance business partner meetings.
- venue closure and project scheduling.

Prepare Project Initiation Documents and Business cases for submission to appropriate decision making forums.
Ensure health and safety and compliance processes are followed.


Finance

Provide effective financial management of all capital works budgets
Advise the Head of Contract Management of anticipated variances and adhere to Change Control requirements at all times.
Provide detailed forecasts for future capital works to inform on long term model.
Support the Contract Manager with managing insurance claims

The Person

The successful candidate should have previous experience of project managing works, preferably working in a facilities or estate management environment. They will be resilient and results focused, have strong influencing and communication skills and have demonstrable stakeholder engagement and management experience.

Previous experience of working in a facilities or estate management environment OR
Previous experience of project managing works
- The following qualifications would be useful in this role:
- Facilities Management degree or HND
- Qualification from BIFM, or NEBOSH
- Appropriate insurance industry qualification would be desirable.
- Foundation level APM or Prince2
- Foundation level CIPS or RICS
- Experience of managing competing demands and balancing operational and project requirements.
- Strong experience working with suppliers, ideally within a changing and politically sensitive environment.
- Experience of working to tight deadlines with experience of identifying and coordinating required internal and external resources.
- Experience at managing and prioritising workloads. Awareness of risk management.
- High level working knowledge of all Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint with ability to create documents efficiently and act as an IT champion.
- Strong communicator (telephone, face-to-face & written) at all levels of seniority with the ability to influence.
- Influencing, negotiating and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good critical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- Good time management and the ability to set priorities to reflect changing circumstances.
- Ability to handle sensitive and complex material reliably, with diplomacy and tact and use discretion where appropriate.
- Ability to co-ordinate both manual and electronic records systems for the directorate.
Planning and organisation across a directorate with the ability to prioritise and multi task.
