Job description

Associate Commercial Director
National House builder - South Midlands Region
£75k to £80k plus package

I'm looking for an Associate Commercial Director for a well known national house builder. They have a very strong reputation in the Southern parts of England, but have fairly recently begun work in the Midlands. They now have regional offices in Wolverhampton, Leicester, and Solihull.

In terms of package I'm looking up to the £75k'ish mark (more for the right candidate) plus car allowance, 30% bonus, and pension contributions matched up to 5%.

The regional commercial teams are integral to the successful delivery of my clients sites. The function serves as the linchpin between both Technical and Production functions of the business.

This position within the commercial team is a challenging and diverse role. You will have full commercial management responsibility for a number of housing projects, liaise with suppliers and make key decisions regarding the procurement of labour and materials.

Collaboration is also key to the success of this role. You will work very closely with site management, finance and design teams and own the reporting of key costs incurred across multiple sites.

It is important you have a keen eye for detail, can forecast costs and enjoy negotiating with suppliers.

It is a unique blend of skills required but a very rewarding role.

What you will do:
* Have full commercial management responsibility for a number of housing projects across the region including the calculation and reporting of all costs and introducing possible value engineering solutions & strategy to optimise profit and efficiency
* Collaborate with departments across the business to improve cost effectiveness and ensure timely delivery of projects whilst providing cost advice on any aspect of the build as and when required.
* Develop a close relationship with the site teams and a detailed knowledge of your allocated sites by maintaining a visible site presence, ensuring all developments are visited regularly and attending site meetings as required.
* Liaise with subcontractors in order to ensure sufficient resources are available and assist in the monitoring and evaluation of contractor performance.

What you will have:
* Previous experience in a similar role within residential housebuilding
* A strong knowledge and appreciation of UK building regulations and health and safety requirements within the industry
* Experience managing both internal and external clients in a commercial environment and an ability to build lasting and meaningful relationships with a variety of stakeholders
