Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join a UK leading Civil Engineering and Building Contractor specialising in Infrastructure and Groundworks. This is an excellent opportunity to join their Oxfordshire office and gain a fully foundered Degree.

Trainee Quantity Surveyor

This is an excellent opportunity embark on a career within Quantity Surveying, the successful candidate will finish the programme with both a professional qualification and real practical experience of the area that will more than equip them for the role of a Quantity Surveyor.

The successful candidate will be enrolled to begin working towards their qualification after six months of supported training. Once the course commences they will spend one day a week studying towards their degree at an external learning institution and the extra four days in the office applying this knowledge and gaining highly valuable practical experience on major projects with a value of up to £10 million.

During work they will be guided by mentors with a wealth of experience in Surveying and Construction to pass on.

Role Responsibilities:-

- Assisting in establishing a clients requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
- Performing risk, value management and cost control
- Advising on procurement strategy
- Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
- Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
- Valuing completed work and arranging payments
- Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use

Entry Requirements-
- A Levels - Grade Bs of Higher OR Equivalent
- Holding/Be working towards a full clean driving licence
Qualifications Gained
- BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying
- Relevant Health and Safety Qualifications
