New position working for this vital part of the national nuclear support agency - Magnox. This role will be based in Harwell and will last for around 12-18 months initially

The role will require security clearance and can initially commence on a BPSS basis.

Outline:

You will be responsible for:

- The design and procurement of electrical systems.

- Initial specification development which involves bringing together information obtained from various different sources and disciplines.

- Conceptual and detailed design phases, tender and procurement.

You will be Involved in the full process, from preliminary scoping through to installation and commissioning, using a structured project management approach. These full life cycle Electrical designs go from concept and design through manufacture and operation.

- The production of documentation and drawings

- Presentation of designs for peer review.

The Engineer will provide more complex engineering solutions to higher profile projects, underpinned by a high level of technical knowledge and experience. Establish and Maintain Design Authority Arrangements

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING


ONC/HNC or equivalent in a relevant electrical subject
Time served apprentice.
BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations - latest Edition)
Supervisory Management Qualification ILM Level 3
IOSH Managing Safely qualification

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE


Knowledge of electrical safety legislation and Standards
Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems
Experience of building electrical systems, fire, lighting, small power, IT/Telecoms, BEMS systems, control loops (especially for ventilation control), control systems (PLC, speed control),
Knowledge of safety requirements as they relate to electrical maintenance and installation work.
Understanding of HVAC and instrumentation and control loops.
Able to use protective clothing and equipment, including but not limited to RPE, Arc Flash, Electrical
Experience of supervising a team of electricians
Understanding of Radiological Protection Instrumentation (RPI) equipment - Winfrith
Possess an awareness of safe working practices
Working knowledge of Office and familiarisation of CMMS
