My Client, a Local Authority in London, seeks a qualified Fire Project Manager for a contract role for 3 months to extend
Essential skills and Qualifications:
It is essential that you hold a Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering/Construction related subject (or significant and demonstrable experience of working at that level) and also hold a professional membership the IFE (MIfireE) or alternatively hold a master's degree in Fire engineering
You must be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the following - Approved Document B, BS 9991, 9999, BB 100 and associated legislation. You should also be able to review 'hand calcs' (BS 7974-1,2 BRE 368 etc), and have an understanding of BS 7974-6 tenability analysis
It is essential that you have substantial experience in understanding CFD modelling either practically building them or have reviewed CFD models e.g. NIST's Fire Dynamics Simulator
The client is looking for someone with experience in coaching and mentoring staff
The role will involve the following:
Lead, deliver and oversee planned strategic projects and programmes of change for Fire
Drive development of the Council's fire engineering provision and giving Technical Guidance to clients in order to generate income.
Analyse responses and put forward proposals for changes to service provided or working practices to further customer focus.
Providing in-house Fire engineering related seminars for staff and stakeholders.
Providing specialist technical support and training to colleagues in the team.
Attend training courses and keep up to date with current Building Control requirements, ensuring that this information is shared with colleagues via clear and informative emails and technical guidance notes.
Attend preliminary meetings with area surveyors advising on all areas of Fire safety.
Administer the full range of Mechanical /Electrical and Fire Safety installations required under the Building Regulations in all areas.
Support the Head of Service in providing the strategic and operational leadership, development, direction and management of the Building Control Service.
