London | Hybrid (3 days in office)
Our client, a well-established medium-sized building services consultancy based in London, is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join their specialist Data Centre team.
This role offers a hybrid working pattern with three days per week in the office, providing the perfect balance between collaboration and flexibility.
The Role:
You will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of mechanical building services on critical data centre projects. Working closely with senior engineers and a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to producing high-quality designs, technical documentation, and calculations while ensuring sustainable and energy-efficient solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Mechanical system design and specification for data centres
Assisting with project delivery and client communication
Producing drawings, reports, and calculations
Coordinating with other disciplines to deliver integrated designs

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead mechanical design elements of projects, with a focus on Data Centre facilities
* Collaborate closely a multi-disciplinary team and other key stakeholders
* Develop and implement innovative mechanical design solutions for HVAC, cooling, and other critical infrastructure
* Support project delivery from concept to completion, ensuring designs meet client requirements and industry standards
* Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and assist with design reviews
* Contribute to the overall success of the Data Centre team through proactive problem-solving and idea generation
What they are Looking For:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within the Data Centre, HVAC, or critical environments sector
* Proficiency in CAD and building services design software
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
* A proactive, solution-focused approach to project delivery
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems and building services, including ventilation, cooling, and fire safety systems
* Chartership status (or working towards) with a relevant engineering institution is desirable but not essential
