Mechanical Design Engineer - Building Services
Oxford HQ | Projects across London & the Home Counties
Multi-award-winning. People-first. Proudly different.
Are you a mechanically-minded mastermind with a passion for clever design and high-spec builds? Fancy joining a growing team that values fresh ideas, good banter, and brilliant engineering?
We're a well-respected name in building services (especially in the luxury residential space), and were growing our in-house design squad. Now, we're on the lookout for a Mechanical Design Engineer who's ready to roll up their sleeves and help shape some seriously impressive spaces.
The Role
You'll be designing and delivering slick, sustainable mechanical systems for everything from ultra-modern homes to complex commercial sites. Think comfort, efficiency, and performance-all designed by you.
You'll be doing things like:
Turning big ideas into detailed designs from concept to construction
Producing crystal-clear drawings, reports, and specs (RIBA stages and all)
Running calculations using the latest industry software
Collaborating with everyone from architects to contractors (and probably a few coffee machines along the way)
Visiting project sites, attending meetings, and keeping everything on track
It's the perfect mix of hands-on technical work, creative problem-solving, and career-growing opportunity.
What You'll Bring
Solid experience in mechanical building services design (consultancy or contractor - we're open)
HNC/HND or a degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
Working towards (or already got) IEng or CEng? Even better
Confident with CAD and Revit (BIM know-how gets bonus points)
A team player who communicates clearly and tackles problems with a smile
A full UK driving licence (some site visits, remember!)
What's In It for You
A competitive salary that reflects your experience
Training and career development that's actually useful
Private healthcare + health insurance
Pension contributions that aren't just pocket change
32 days' holiday (yep, including Bank Holidays)
Flexible working on select projects
A genuinely friendly and supportive team culture
Eden Brown is committed to equality in the workplace and is an equal opportunity employer.
