A well-established multidisciplinary Built Environment Consultancy is looking for a Senior Building Physics Engineer to join their growing sustainability and engineering team. With offices across the UK and a broad portfolio of work in sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, and defence, this consultancy offers a dynamic environment for those passionate about building performance and sustainable design.

The Role:
You'll lead the development and delivery of building performance strategies across a wide range of projects, from early concept stages through to completion. Your work will focus on evaluating and improving energy, carbon, and comfort performance, helping clients meet their environmental and operational targets.

What You'll Be Doing:
* Carrying out building performance modelling and simulation using tools like IES-VE or DesignBuilder
* Leading thermal comfort assessments, energy strategy reports, and advising on Part L compliance
* Supporting design teams with passive design strategies and energy-efficient solutions
* Working closely with clients, architects, and engineers across all design stages
* Mentoring junior team members and contributing to service development
* Keeping up to date with UK Building Regulations, sustainability frameworks, and industry trends

About You:
* Proven experience in building physics, energy modelling, or environmental design
* Proficiency in building simulation tools such as IES-VE, TAS, or similar
* Strong knowledge of UK compliance standards and sustainable design principles
* Excellent communication skills with a confident and collaborative approach
* A passion for low-carbon, performance-driven buildings

We are an established sustainability consultancy based in London Bridge. Since our inception in 2012, the company has grown from 2 people to 60. Our clients include developers and investment firms to deliver low-carbon buildings, upgrade MEP services, retrofit buildings and to decarbonise existing portfolios. Our Energy, Carbon & Sustainability team is made up of 15 people and with a great balance of Associates, Principals and Seniors, there is a plenty of opportunities to progress.

We are seeking a Senior-Principal Building Physics Engineer to join our team. This is a technical role that requires a deep understanding of energy modelling and building physics. The role also involves working closely with clients and colleagues to deliver high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead dynamic thermal modelling and energy performance analysis using IES-VE, with expertise in Apache HVAC.
* Deliver NABERS and Design for Performance (DfP) modelling, supporting Net Zero and energy efficiency strategies.
* Conduct Part L, TM52, TM54, and TM59 assessments, as well as overheating analysis, daylight studies, and thermal comfort assessments.
* Provide technical leadership in building physics and energy modelling, ensuring best practices across projects.
* Support other areas of sustainability, including Whole Life Carbon (WLC) and Embodied Carbon, working closely with specialists.
* Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering technical development within the team.
* Engage with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate low-carbon, sustainable design strategies into projects.
* Stay ahead of industry regulations, net zero carbon strategies, and evolving modelling methodologies.

About You:
* 6+ years experience in Building Physics, Energy Modelling, or Sustainability Consulting.
* Expertise in IES-VE, Apache HVAC, NABERS, and Design for Performance (DfP) modelling.
* Strong knowledge of Part L compliance, TM52, TM54, TM59, and SAP/SBEM assessments.
* Chartered Engineer or working towards CIBSE/IEMA accreditation is highly desirable.
* Experience leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and engaging with key stakeholders.
* Passion for low-carbon, high-performance building design and Net Zero Carbon strategies.
