An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a dynamic and collaborative Building Services team based in Cambridge. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment and is looking to lead innovative projects from concept through to completion.
About the Role:
* Act as a senior technical lead on a wide range of building services projects, taking responsibility for design quality and project delivery across the MEP disciplines.
* Play a key role in both winning and successfully delivering projects by contributing strategic input and direction.
* Provide expert advice and design solutions within a multi-disciplinary context, ensuring integration across mechanical, electrical, and public health services.
* Lead feasibility studies, produce detailed and performance specifications, and supervise both design programmes and junior staff.
* Interpret client needs and project requirements, ensuring delivery aligns with expectations, budgets, and timelines.
What You'll Bring:
* Proven experience in a senior engineering capacity, including leadership of both discipline-specific and cross-discipline project teams.
* Strong understanding of UK and European regulations relevant to electrical building services.
* Skilled in the use of design software including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical calculation tools.
* Ability to manage resources, direct project workflows, and communicate technical information effectively both visually and verbally.
Technical Expertise:
* Low voltage systems & standby generation
* UPS systems and cable sizing
* Internal and external lighting systems
* Fire detection, access control, and security systems
* Data cabling and infrastructure
* Lightning protection and small power systems
Qualifications:
* BEng/BSc/MEng in Electrical Engineering or related field
* Working towards or already chartered with IET, CIBSE, or Engineering Council (IEng or CEng)
* Familiarity with Revit MEP and 3D design coordination preferred

My client are looking for a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong track record of leading projects, delivering high-quality work, and contributing to successful commissions. You will play a key role in their multidisciplinary MEP team, offering technical expertise and design leadership across a wide range of projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead projects within your discipline and collaborate with the wider project team.
* Work independently with minimal supervision, managing all technical aspects of your role.
* Provide design and technical advice, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to project delivery.
* Supervise and support the completion of detailed designs.
* Assess project feasibility and lead overall feasibility studies.
* Take responsibility for producing detailed and performance specifications.
* Review design programmes and ensure resource availability for successful project completion.

Qualifications
* BEng/BSc/MEng in a relevant engineering discipline.
* CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council accredited honours degree or equivalent experience.
* Working towards IEng or CEng status.
* Training in Revit MEP applied to the discipline.
