Lead Public Health Design Engineer - Building Services

City of London

Up to £75,000 + Benefits, 30 days annual leave, Flexible Working

I'm representing a highly respected, independently owned Building Services Consultancy known for their progressive approach to building projects and workplace culture.

Founded nearly ten years ago, they have established themselves as one of the best small, independent building services consultants in the industry, with outstanding staff retention. People join and rarely leave, a testament to the supportive culture and clear career progression opportunities on offer. The business is undergoing an exciting phase of strategic growth-this is a company to watch, and you have the chance to be a key part of it.

Led by a collective of three founding Directors and a leadership team of ten, they are now looking to appoint a Lead Public Health Engineer to take ownership of, develop, and grow the Public Health department. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Public Health Engineer to step up, lead projects, and establish a division in their vision within a thriving consultancy.

You will ideally have 8+ years of relevant building services design experience within a consultancy or contractor environment. You will have the ability to lead elements of projects, engage with clients and contractors, and provide technical leadership. This role is ideal for an ambitious engineer who wants to shape a team and influence the future of Public Health engineering within the business.

What's on Offer?

  • The chance to build and grow a Public Health department within a thriving consultancy.
  • 90% staff retention rate-people love working here.
  • A team of 26+ engineers across 3 offices nationwide.
  • 30 days annual leave + Bank Holidays (and no weekly timesheets!).
  • £300 yearly sports membership.
  • Flexible working- Hybrid Working Policy in place

A variety of technically challenging projects, from large-scale commercial offices to educational buildings and HM Prison refurbishments/new builds.

The team provides a collaborative and supportive environment, with a strong emphasis on CPD and CEng applications. Many engineers have achieved Chartered status here, supported by the company's investment in further education, including MSc courses.

This role offers the opportunity to work on technically complex projects, including those that challenge traditional engineering principles, such as prison design, which requires a completely different approach to access and security considerations.

If you are an experienced Public Health Engineer looking for a leadership opportunity within an ambitious and forward-thinking consultancy, apply today. Let's schedule a call to discuss your application and priorities for your next career move. After our initial conversation, I'd be happy to meet for a coffee to go through interview preparation and next steps.
