Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their London office, focusing on the Data Centre sector with their Mission Critical Facilities team. About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:
Develop designs for mechanical distribution systems (CHW, HVAC, Fuel to LTHW).
Advise clients on mechanical systems and lead the design of data centre mechanical systems.
Provide technical specifications, design options, and tender documentation.
Ensure coordination with other disciplines (e.g., architecture and structural engineering).
Monitor installation to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
Operational Responsibilities
Work independently on all technical aspects of mechanical systems or specialist experience.
Lead joint teams within MEP disciplines, providing design and technical advice.
Complete detailed designs for mission-critical facilities and associated mechanical systems.
Direct the production of detailed specifications and manage project feasibility studies.
Review design programmes and ensure sufficient resources to meet deadlines.
What Were Looking For
Knowledge and experience in designing mechanical systems for data centres.
Chartered status (or working towards) with CIBSE, IMechE, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of UK and EU regulations, Uptime Institute Tier Classification, and relevant design guides.
