Senior Fire Engineer

Location: London

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 plus package

My client is looking to hire a Senior Fire Engineer for there expanding London office. The ideal candidate will have worked across a range of industries and on a diversity of projects and have a minimum of 5 years experience in a consultancy or similar environment.


My client is a leading international engineering consultancy who main drive is to deliver excellent solutions through a clear understanding of their client's business and community expectations.


  • Ideally be at least educated to degree level (BEng or MEng) within a fire engineering sector.
  • Achieved Chartered Status or working towards a relevant professional registration /qualification

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience needed within the fire industry dealing with design, projects and compliance regarding structural and internal equipment - this must at a senior level of experience.
  • Demonstrated track record in delivering fire strategies for a variety of sectors - commercial, residential, datacentres, Interior fitout etc.
  • Knowledge of building element fire resistance performance and other fire safety design would also be useful.
  • Experience with CFD would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Fire/Evacuation Modelling
  • Means of Escape Assessment
  • Smoke Control Calcs
  • Structural Fire Protections Assessment
  • Compliance checks to Building Regulations and Statutory Guidance
  • Fire Safety Audits
  • Fire Risk Assessment under Regulatory Reform (Fire safety) Order.


  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all stakeholders across multiple disciplines including colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to learn quickly and exercise well developed problem solving skills and use substantial initiative and judgement to work independently to meet objectives.
  • Able to cope with change and ambiguity.
  • Presentation skills
  • A working knowledge of relevant regulations, engineering codes and standards

The successful candidate can expect to receive an annual salary of £50,000 to £60,000 p.a. depending on experience with package negotiable.
