Sustainability Consultant - Net Zero Carbon (2-Month FTC)

A leading sustainability and environmental consultancy is looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join their ESG & Net Zero team on a short-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an industry-first pilot on Net Zero Carbon Standards, aimed at defining how the UK can achieve net-zero buildings through a whole-life carbon approach that addresses both operational and embodied carbon.

The Role
You'll split your time between:
* Data analytics - analysing over 40,000 data points to shape net-zero strategies and reporting
* Net Zero Carbon Audits - evaluating asset-level performance and identifying pathways to reduce carbon emissions

You'll be part of a collaborative team working on projects that deliver real-world impact across real estate, development, and investment.

About You
* Degree in engineering or architecture (essential)
* Ideally 2-3 years' experience working on operational energy and embodied carbon assessments
* Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate findings effectively
* Familiarity with Net Zero frameworks, whole-life carbon thinking, and UK sustainability standards
* A proactive, collaborative mindset and good communication skills

Carbon Consultant - Whole Life Carbon & Embodied Carbon

A growing sustainability and building consultancy is seeking a Carbon Consultant to join their team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about low-carbon design and data-driven analysis to help deliver meaningful carbon reduction strategies across diverse projects.

The Role
As a Carbon Consultant, you'll focus on conducting Whole Life Carbon Assessments (WLCA) and supporting clients in reducing embodied carbon from the earliest design stages. Using tools like OneClick LCA, you'll produce detailed carbon footprint models and provide practical recommendations to project teams and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:
* Carrying out Whole Life Carbon and embodied carbon assessments for new build and refurbishment projects
* Using OneClick LCA (or similar) to calculate and report project carbon footprints
* Advising design teams on strategies to reduce embodied and operational carbon
* Preparing clear, client-facing reports and communicating findings effectively
* Staying up to date with industry frameworks (e.g. RICS, LETI, GLA guidance) and best practice
* Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to integrate carbon strategies into broader sustainability goals

About You
* 2-4 years' experience in sustainability, carbon consultancy, or environmental design
* Experience delivering Whole Life Carbon or embodied carbon assessments
* Proficient in OneClick LCA or similar tools
* Strong understanding of UK carbon and sustainability frameworks and guidance
* Confident communicator, able to explain data and recommendations clearly
* Proactive, motivated, and genuinely passionate about carbon reduction and sustainable design
