An established London-based specialist subcontractor with over 35 years of experience delivering high-quality interiors solutions is looking to appoint an experienced Drylining Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This role will involve a split between site and office, overseeing projects within the drylining division, typically ranging in value from £50k up to £4m.
In addition to drylining, the business delivers a wide range of services including partitioning, plastering, suspended ceilings, carpentry, structural framing systems, and full fit-out packages.
They work in partnership with a number of Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, with notable clients including Laing O'Rourke, BAM, Wates, and Mace.
The RoleAs a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring strong financial control, effective risk management, and cost certainty throughout the project lifecycle.
You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, and senior commercial staff to support successful, high-quality project delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage commercial responsibilities across multiple drylining packages and projectsPrepare and maintain cost plans, budgets, and financial forecastsLead subcontract procurement, including tendering, negotiation, and appointmentAssess valuations, variations, and payment applicationsProduce accurate cost reporting and ensure projects remain within budgetSupport contract administration, with a focus on JCT contractsCarry out regular site visits to monitor progress and assess commercial impactIdentify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, including value engineeringPrepare and agree final accountsBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partnersCandidate ProfileEssential ExperienceProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within drylining or interiors, ideally working with a main contractor or specialist subcontractorExperience managing high-value drylining packagesAbility to oversee multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong understanding of JCT contracts and commercial processesExcellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to work both independently and within a collaborative team environmentPlease note: This role is not suited to candidates with solely residential experience.
