Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Technical Designer to join a collaborative design and build team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career technical designer to develop their skills across a variety of project stages, from initial design development and technical documentation through to construction and practical completion.
Working alongside experienced technical and design professionals, you will support the production of accurate, coordinated, compliant, and buildable technical information. You will help translate design concepts into practical solutions while developing your understanding of technical standards, regulations, construction processes, sustainability, and industry best practices.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in architecture, interior architecture, or a related discipline, together with a willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support project teams throughout the design and delivery process, taking ownership of assigned tasks and ensuring items are completed accurately and on time.
* Assist with the production of technical design documentation, from early-stage schematics and sketches through to construction documentation.
* Help translate conceptual designs into detailed, practical, and buildable solutions while maintaining design intent, cost, compliance, and programme requirements.
* Assist with the preparation and development of technical drawing packages, specifications, schedules, and associated documentation.
* Support coordination between architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, public health, and other disciplines.
* Assist in the development and coordination of Revit models, CAD drawings, PDFs, and other technical information.
* Review reference information, site documentation, and project materials to support design accuracy.
* Assist with quality assurance and quality control processes and help identify potential technical or design risks.
* Work collaboratively with preconstruction, commercial, project management, site teams, consultants, clients, and other stakeholders.
* Assist with maintaining drawing files, document sets, naming conventions, and project information in line with company standards.
* Develop knowledge of relevant regulations, technical standards, Building Regulations, and CDM requirements.
* Assist with statutory applications and compliance-related processes.
* Provide technical information and documentation to support site teams during construction.
* Attend and shadow site visits, internal meetings, and technical coordination reviews to develop practical construction knowledge.
* Assist with the preparation of as-built/as-record drawings and associated documentation.

About You:
* Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a related discipline.
* 1-2 years of experience in a technical design, architectural, interior design, or drafting environment, including relevant internship experience.
* Working knowledge of Revit, BIM coordination tools, AutoCAD, and other relevant design software.
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical documentation.
* Good verbal and visual communication skills.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and an interest in finding practical technical solutions.
* A genuine willingness to learn technical standards, regulations, construction processes, and industry best practices.
* Ability to follow direction while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
* Comfortable working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team.
* Able to adapt positively to changing project requirements, feedback, and priorities.

Eden Brown is delighted to be supporting a leading international consultancy in the appointment of an Associate Director - Programme Management to join a nationally significant life sciences and infrastructure programme for a major public sector client.

This is a rare opportunity to play a key leadership role in the delivery of a complex, long-term capital investment programme involving the modernisation and development of specialist scientific and research facilities within a highly regulated environment.

The programme includes major infrastructure upgrades, new-build facilities, and estate transformation projects that will support critical national capabilities for years to come.

The Role

As Associate Director, you will provide programme and project leadership across a portfolio of secured projects, ensuring successful delivery from inception through to completion.

You will work closely with senior client stakeholders, consultants, design teams and contractors, driving performance across cost, programme, risk and quality objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the delivery of complex infrastructure and capital projects.Managing project managers and multidisciplinary delivery teams.Building and maintaining strong client-side stakeholder relationships.Managing programme budgets, forecasting and change control.Leading risk management and governance processes.Overseeing consultant and contractor performance.Providing strategic reporting and programme updates to senior stakeholders.Supporting procurement, contract management and programme assurance activities.

About You:

We are keen to speak with experienced Project Directors, Programme Directors, Associate Directors or Senior Project Managers who have delivered major capital programmes within highly regulated environments.

Youll ideally have experience in one or more of the following sectors:

Life SciencesPharmaceuticalsResearch & Development FacilitiesLaboratoriesHealthcare InfrastructureDefenceNuclearGovernment InfrastructureSecure or Mission-Critical Environments


You will also demonstrate:

Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure and new-build projects.Strong client-side stakeholder management capability.Experience working within a 2-stage Design & Build environment.Excellent commercial, financial and programme management skills.Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams.Knowledge of NEC and/or other major construction contracts.Professional qualifications such as MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM, MICE or equivalent.
