Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Building Services
London | Hybrid Working
Up to £70,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Are you looking for a more flexible way of working, without compromising on the quality of the projects you deliver? Join a forward-thinking building services consultancy that's reshaping how engineers work and thrive.

Established in 2020, our client is a modern and dynamic consultancy that champions work-life balance and trusts its team to manage their time and output effectively. With a flexible hybrid working model (typically 2 days in the London Farringdon office, 3 days from home - but always based on project needs), they offer autonomy and flexibility rarely found in the industry.

About the Role:

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality building services design across a range of commercial office projects. You'll also have the opportunity to work more broadly across advisory and design management roles - including direct client liaison and acting as a client-side consultant.

This is more than just a traditional design role - you'll be part of a team that works closely with end users and developers, providing a holistic view of project delivery from concept through to completion.

What You'll Need:

A degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering (or equivalent qualification)

5+ years' experience in a building services consultancy environment

Proficiency in mechanical services design, ideally within commercial office sectors

Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC software (e.g. IES VE) is beneficial

Strong understanding of interdisciplinary design and coordination

Ability to work independently, manage workload and deliver to deadlines

A proactive mindset, with a pragmatic and solutions-driven approach

What You'll Be Doing:

Lead and manage mechanical design on a variety of projects

Collaborate with clients, project teams, and other consultants

Engage in advisory and design management roles, supporting end-user clients

Attend client meetings (virtually or in person in London as required)

Take ownership of deliverables and deadlines with full trust from leadership

What's on Offer:

Competitive salary up to £70,000

Annual bonus scheme (up to 10%)

25 days holiday + bank holidays

Private healthcare

Pension contributions

Fully flexible hybrid working model

A trusting and empowering work culture with career progression opportunities

This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who values both technical excellence and workplace flexibility. If you're ready to take on a more diverse, hands-on role in a business that puts trust and autonomy at the heart of its culture, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now, and we'll be in touch to arrange a confidential chat at your convenience.
