Overview

We have been selected as a Recruitment partner for a fit-out and refurbishment contractor who are based South of London and have proven experience in the fit out and refurbishment market are on the market seeking a Site Manager / Supervisor who holds an SMSTS due to some recent project wins.

They have recently secured a Highways England contract to oversee the refurbishment and fit out of truck depots across the south of England. The role involves leading on-site operations, coordinating trades, ensuring safety, and delivering projects on time and to the required quality. The position offers strong long-term prospects within a growing business that values training and development.

They are also proving successfgul against their competitors with commercial office fit outs and therefore looking to bolster their site management team with an up and coming future leader loomking for aprogressive opportunity.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage on-site operations for refurbishment and fit-out works, including truck depots, offices, and general refurbishments.Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and internal trades to ensure quality workmanship, programme adherence, and on-time delivery.Implement and monitor safety practices in line with company policies and relevant legislation; manage Temporary Works (supervisor level) requirements.Liaise with clients and stakeholders to meet project requirements, resolve issues, and provide progress updates.Review site logistics, material deliveries, temporary works, access, and plant/machinery usage.Monitor and control on-site costs, waste, rework, and productivity; report variances and implement corrective actions.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of project drawings and specifications; ensure accurate as-built records.Lead toolbox talks, attend project meetings, and foster a positive, collaborative on-site environment.Ensure high standards of quality and adherence to design intent.Support training and development of site personnel; mentor junior staff where applicable.Experience & QualificationsSMSTS RequiredTravel: Comfortable with nationwide travel; prepared to stay away from home as required; digs and expenses paid where necessary.Other: Strong communication and organisational skills; ability to manage multiple trades and interfaces; proactive problem-solving. A highly experienced, award-winning construction and interior fit-out company, based in London are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to support with the delivery of a luxury Hotel Refurbishment , including a rooftop extension with super luxury suites in an iconic Hotel In London. This role involves managing health and safety standards during the ultra high end luxury finish on the 4 penthouse suites and luxury restaurant on the the newly built rooftop extension, value £75m.

They deliver a world class finish on every project. They can deliver all aspects of a fit-out project and work with a host of prestigious clients. They are looking for a Health and Safety Manager to oversee health and safety coordination for a luxury hotel refurbishment project.

They are looking for someone from a contractor background ideally.


Key Responsibilities

* Health and Safety Oversight - Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards throughout the refurbishment project.
* Temporary Works Coordination - Act as a Temporary Works Coordinator, ensuring that all temporary structures are designed and implemented safely.
* Site Inspections - Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure that safety protocols are being followed.
* Risk Assessments - Prepare, review, and update risk assessments and method statements related to construction activities.
* Safety Training - Develop and deliver safety training programs for site personnel to promote a culture of safety.
* Incident Reporting - Investigate accidents and incidents on-site, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
* Collaboration - Liaise with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure a cohesive approach to health and safety.
* Documentation - Maintain accurate health and safety records, reports, and documentation as required by legislation and company policies.

Qualifications

* Experience - Proven experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on refurbishment projects.
* Background - Candidates with a contractor background are highly desirable, particularly those with experience in steelwork and structural works.
* Certifications - Relevant health and safety certifications, NEBOSH is essntial

*Technical Knowledge - Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices in construction.
* Communication Skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
* Problem-Solving Skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address safety challenges effectively.
* Previous experience as a Health and Safety biased Site Manager will be considered an advantage.
* Familiarity with heavy structural works, roof top extensions and other heavy cut and carve projects would be advantageous

Key Responsibilities

Client-Side Leadership: Represent the client's interests at all times, ensuring quality, compliance, and value for money.
Tender Management: Prepare and launch Stage 3 tender process with multiple contractors.
Project Delivery: Oversee M&E major works in a live data centre environment, ensuring SLA availability and Tier 3 compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement: Manage client relationships, internal teams, and external contractors to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
Scope & Drawings: Review and define project scope, demarcation, and responsibilities using MEP and civil/architectural drawings.
On-Site Leadership: Be present on-site full-time to manage works, temporary works plans, and compliance with CDM and UK construction regulations.
Program Efficiency: Identify gaps and opportunities to expedite programs and optimize work packages.
Digital Tools: Proficient in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and SharePoint for document control, mark-ups, and collaboration with PMO teams.
Reporting: Produce weekly progress reports, track blockers, and provide clear next steps and recommendations.
Risk Management: Maintain a project risk register and trace all risks back to cost and time impacts.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Problem Solving: Be solution-oriented, adaptable, and proactive in overcoming challenges without compromising safety.
Skills & Experience

Proven experience in data centre projects (live environments preferred).
Strong MEP background with ability to manage contractors and consultants.
Familiarity with BMS, fire, and security systems.
Excellent understanding of CDM regulations and UK construction standards.
Proficiency in ACC, SharePoint, and digital collaboration tools.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within tight deadlines.
