This individual will bring with them expertise in thermal modelling and environmental analysis and will be instrumental in driving forward their sustainability offering.

The Role
As a Senior Building Physics Engineer, you will play a central role in delivering high-quality building performance analysis and guiding design teams towards low-energy, net zero, and climate-resilient outcomes.
You will work closely with colleagues across their different offices and will lead technical assessments, mentor junior engineers, and liaise with clients and architects to deliver solutions that balance energy efficiency, comfort, and sustainability. This is a client-facing role that offers excellent scope for professional growth, with a clear pathway to Principal Consultant .
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver thermal modelling and energy assessments using IES software, including Part L compliance and energy strategies.
- Conduct SAP assessments for residential projects, ensuring compliance with SAP10 methodology and future homes standards.
- Carry out overheating analysis and advise on mitigation strategies for a wide range of building types.
- Undertake daylight and sunlight analysis, supporting planning applications and optimising building design.
- Prepare clear and robust technical reports for planning submissions, building control, and client presentations.
- Attend design team and client meetings, providing confident, professional, and practical advice.
- Mentor and train graduates and junior engineers, helping them develop building physics skills and modelling expertise.
- Collaborate with sustainability engineers, M&E engineers, and external consultants to integrate building physics within wider project delivery.

Essential qualifications & experience
- A degree in Building Services Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Environmental Design, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a building physics / sustainability consultancy role.
- Proven expertise with IES VE software and Part L compliance modelling.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP assessments, SAP10 methodology, and UK building regulations.
- Experience in overheating and daylight analysis, using industry-standard methods and tools.

* Use tools such as IES-VE to develop robust building performance strategies.

About you
* Degree in Engineering, Building Physics, or a related discipline.
* 5+ years' experience in building physics and performance modelling.
* Strong knowledge of IES-VE (essential).
* Experience with ApacheHVAC and NABERS/Design for Performance modelling is desirable but not essential.
* Proven ability to deliver UK compliance modelling and building performance studies.
* Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage clients and influence design teams.

* Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is desirable.
