Salary: Up to £45,000 + Package

A leading London-based design & build specialist is seeking an ambitious Assistant Commercial Manager to join its growing commercial team.

The Opportunity

Working closely with senior commercial leadership, you will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects from pre-construction through to final account. You'll gain exposure to high-profile design & build schemes and be given genuine responsibility from day one, with a clear pathway towards Commercial Manager level.

This position would suit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to step up, or an established Assistant Commercial Manager looking to join a highly respected fit-out contractor with strong growth plans.

Responsibilities

Supporting the commercial delivery of CAT A, CAT A+ and CAT B fit-out projects across LondonProcurement and management of subcontractor packagesPreparing and reviewing subcontract ordersManaging valuations, variations and change controlAssisting with project forecasting and cost reportingSupporting monthly CVR reporting processesManaging subcontractor payments and accountsAssisting with risk and opportunity managementSupporting final account negotiations and project close-outWorking closely with project, design and operational teams throughout delivery

Requirements

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related disciplineExperience within the fit-out, refurbishment or design & build sectorsKnowledge of JCT forms of contractStrong commercial and contractual awarenessExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAmbitious and motivated to progress within a growing business

Key Responsibilities

Support the preparation of cost plans and commercial proposals.Assist with tender analysis and subcontractor procurement.Review project documentation including Employers Requirements, specifications and fit out guides.Support negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers.Produce and maintain project cost breakdowns using Excel.Assist with site surveys and supply chain engagement.Support the preparation of bid documentation and client presentations.Assist in managing RFIs throughout the preconstruction process.Help coordinate landlord approvals and technical submissions.Support procurement planning and management of long lead items.Ensure accurate handover of information to delivery teams.Maintain compliance with health & safety, quality and commercial procedures.

About You
