An established fit-out and refurbishment contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support the successful delivery of multiple projects across the commercial interiors sector.
Reporting to the Commercial Director and Senior Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects from procurement through to final account. Working closely with project teams, clients, consultants and the supply chain, you will play a key role in maximising profitability, managing risk and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage the commercial delivery of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects from procurement through to final account.Prepare and manage project cost plans, forecasts, CVRs and cash flow projections.Monitor project performance and identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes.Procure subcontractors and suppliers in line with project programmes and company procedures.Prepare subcontract orders and manage subcontractor accounts, variations and final accounts.Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.Manage change control, including the pricing and negotiation of variations.Issue and manage contractual notices, extensions of time, delay notifications and loss and expense claims where required.Ensure the timely submission of payment applications, valuations, invoices and cash collection.Work closely with operational teams to manage project costs and preliminary expenditure.Participate in design development, cost control and value engineering exercises.Assist with tender submissions, post-tender negotiations and estimating activities where required.Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.Attend client, project and commercial meetings and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.Support the successful delivery of multiple projects while maintaining commercial standards and governance.About YouPrevious experience in a Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveying role within the fit-out, refurbishment or wider construction sector.Strong understanding of procurement, contract administration, cost management and forecasting.Experience managing project budgets, financial reporting and final accounts.Good knowledge of UK construction contracts, contract law and building regulations.Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.Experience working closely with project delivery and pre-construction teams.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Highly organised with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proactive, collaborative and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.QualificationsEssentialDegree qualified, relevant professional qualification or equivalent industry experience.CSCS Card.DesirableDegree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.Membership of a recognised professional body such as RICS or CIOB.What's on Offer?Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work on high-profile fit-out and refurbishment projects.Exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients and sectors.Clear progression opportunities within a growing business.Collaborative and supportive working environment.The opportunity to play a key role in the commercial success of a highly respected contractor.This role would suit an ambitious Commercial Manager or experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step within a growing and forward-thinking business.
