About the Opportunity
A growing multidisciplinary interiors contractor has recently secured a number of significant commercial office fit-out projects across London and the South East and is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator.
The business delivers a range of specialist interior packages including ceilings, partitions, flooring, joinery and associated fit-out works, providing clients with a fully coordinated package solution.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong order book and play a key role in delivering major projects from pre-construction through to completion.
The Role
You will take ownership of the design process, ensuring all packages are coordinated, compliant and delivered in line with programme requirements.
Working closely with Project Managers, Commercial Teams, Clients, Consultants and Supply Chain Partners, you will drive design coordination, manage technical information and proactively resolve issues before they impact delivery on site.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the design process across multiple commercial fit-out projects.Coordinate ceilings, partitions, flooring, joinery and associated packages.Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions.Lead design meetings with clients, consultants and specialist subcontractors.Manage RFIs, technical queries and design changes.Ensure design information is released in accordance with project programmes.Identify and mitigate design risks at an early stage.Coordinate subcontractor design responsibilities.Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and project specifications.Work closely with delivery teams to ensure buildability and programme alignment.Support projects through construction and final handover.RequirementsExperience as a Design Manager, Senior Design Coordinator or Technical Coordinator.Strong commercial office fit-out, refurbishment or interiors background.Experience coordinating multiple interior packages.Strong technical understanding and drawing review capability.Proven ability to manage consultants, clients and subcontractors.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Experience working within fast-paced fit-out environments.Knowledge of Building Regulations and construction standards.
