Are you an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer looking to develop your skills, gain exposure to exciting projects and work alongside a talented multidisciplinary team?
We're partnering with a leading multidisciplinary design practice seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join its Manchester studio. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, architects, designers and sustainability specialists, contributing to projects that make a meaningful difference to the built environment.
The Manchester team is currently working on a new hospital scheme, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to a significant healthcare development while continuing to build your technical expertise.
The Role
You'll be involved in the delivery of mechanical building services projects, gaining exposure to all stages of the design process, from initial concepts through to detailed design and delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with mechanical building services designs and strategies.
* Carrying out engineering calculations and producing technical specifications.
* Preparing design drawings, reports and technical documentation.
* Coordinating mechanical designs with architects, engineers and other consultants.
* Working closely with senior engineers and contributing to client and design team meetings.
* Developing your technical expertise while taking increasing responsibility for your own work.
The Projects
You'll have the opportunity to work across a portfolio focused on **healthcare and education projects**.
A key highlight is the team's current involvement in a new hospital scheme, giving you the opportunity to contribute to a major healthcare project alongside experienced professionals.
You'll also have the opportunity to work on significant education developments across Manchester and the wider North West.
About You
You'll have a solid foundation in mechanical building services design and be looking to build on your experience within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
Ideally, you'll have:
* Experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.
* A good understanding of mechanical design principles, calculations and relevant industry standards.
* Strong Revit experience - Revit is essential for this role.
* Experience or an interest in healthcare and/or education projects.
* Strong communication and coordination skills.
* A proactive approach to learning and developing your technical capabilities.
You may also be working towards Chartership or considering your longer-term professional development.

Your role
As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you'll play an important role in delivering projects and will be involved in:
* Mechanical Building Services design from concept through to detailed design
* HVAC calculations and system design
* Producing technical drawings, specifications and reports
* Working closely with architects, clients and other engineering disciplines
* Supporting project delivery and resolving technical challenges
* Developing relationships with clients and project stakeholders
* Contributing to the delivery of high-quality, technically robust designs
What are they looking for?
You'll ideally have:
*A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
* 2+ years' post-graduate experience within a consultancy
* Experience working on commercial projects
* A strong understanding of Mechanical Building Services
* Knowledge of IES VE or similar HVAC software would be beneficial
* Good communication and coordination skills
* A genuine interest in developing your career within the Building Services sector
