Are you an Intermediate or Senior Mechanical Engineer looking for a role where you can take genuine ownership of projects, work across technically challenging buildings, and have direct involvement with clients and the wider design team?

The Opportunity

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll become an important part of the MEP team, taking responsibility for the technical delivery of projects while working alongside engineers from other disciplines.

The consultancy's approach is centred around practical engineering, buildability, coordination and value engineering, rather than design in isolation. You'll therefore have the opportunity to see your work develop from early feasibility through to detailed design, construction and completion.

You'll be responsible for:

Leading mechanical building services design across a variety of projectsTaking projects through relevant RIBA stages, from early concept through to technical deliveryDeveloping HVAC strategies and producing calculations, specifications and technical documentationWorking closely with electrical, public health and fire engineering teams to deliver fully coordinated designsAttending client, contractor and design team meetingsProviding technical input and resolving complex engineering challengesReviewing designs and ensuring technical quality throughout project deliverySupporting and mentoring junior and intermediate engineersDeveloping strong relationships with clients, architects and other project stakeholdersContributing to the continued growth and development of the mechanical engineering teamWhat They're Looking ForStrong experience in mechanical building services designProven consultancy experience across one or more relevant sectorsStrong technical understanding of HVAC and mechanical systemsExperience taking ownership of projects and technical deliverablesComfortable working directly with clients, architects and contractorsGood understanding of UK regulations, standards and industry best practiceExperience mentoring or supporting less experienced engineersChartered or working towards chartership would be advantageousWhy This Opportunity?
