The Opportunity

You'll be trusted to lead projects from concept through to completion, work closely with clients and design teams, and support the development of junior engineers while helping drive the continued success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design delivery across a variety of building services projectsDevelop innovative and practical HVAC solutions from concept through to detailed designManage project programmes, resources, and technical deliverablesAct as a key point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and wider project teamsUndertake design reviews and ensure technical excellence across projectsMentor and support junior engineers, helping to develop the team's technical capabilitySupport business development activities and contribute to strengthening existing client relationshipsCollaborate with sustainability, building physics, and electrical engineering teams to deliver integrated design solutions

What We're Looking For

Experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environmentStrong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, building regulations, and industry best practiceProven experience delivering projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, healthcare, science & research, or mixed-use developmentsExperience leading projects and managing client relationshipsAbility to mentor and develop engineers within a project teamChartered status or working towards chartership would be advantageousStrong communication and stakeholder management skills

With a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative culture, they're looking to appoint an Intermediate to Senior Mechanical Engineer in their London office.

The Opportunity
Whether you're an experienced Intermediate ready to step up, or an established Senior looking for a better environment - this role offers hands-on delivery, progression, and support in equal measure.

You'll work across a variety of projects, gaining exposure to all stages of design while being supported by a highly experienced team.

What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting and leading mechanical design delivery across projects
- Producing calculations, reports, and detailed designs
- Working on dynamic thermal modelling, load calculations, and system design
- Supporting delivery of Part L, overheating analysis (TM52 / TM59), and energy modelling
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated design solutions
- Engaging with clients and attending project meetings
- Progressively taking on more ownership and responsibility

What They're Looking For
- Experience in mechanical building services design (consultancy)
- Exposure to projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, or mixed-use
- Familiarity with tools such as IES-VE (desirable)
- Understanding of UK regulations and design standards
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ambition to develop and progress within a consultancy environment
