We are recruiting for an experienced Construction Manager to deliver a £2m CAT B office fit-out project in Nottingham, scheduled to run from September through to January/February.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established commercial fit-out contractor on a flagship regional project. Due to the project location and structure of the wider team, we're looking for a stand-alone Construction Manager capable of taking full ownership of the site and acting as the contractor's day-to-day representative throughout the programme.

The Role

As the lead site-based professional, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, to programme, within specification, and to the high standards expected by both the client and contractor.

This position requires someone who is comfortable operating autonomously, making informed decisions on site, driving subcontractor performance, and maintaining excellent communication with all project stakeholders.

A key element of the role will also involve supporting the pre-construction phase by attending tender and client meetings prior to project award.

Key ResponsibilitiesTake full ownership of the site from mobilisation through to completionManage and coordinate all subcontractors and direct labourDrive programme and ensure project milestones are achievedMaintain quality standards and oversee snagging processesEnsure compliance with all health & safety requirementsChair site meetings and coordinate project activitiesMonitor progress against drawings, specifications, and programmeLiaise with clients, consultants, design teams, and building managementProduce short-term look-ahead programmes and progress updatesResolve technical and logistical issues as they ariseSupport tender and pre-construction meetings where requiredRepresent the contractor professionally throughout the project lifecycleCandidate RequirementsProven experience delivering CAT A and CAT B commercial fit-out projectsPrevious experience operating as a stand-alone Construction Manager or No.1 Site ManagerStrong commercial awareness and understanding of project deliveryExcellent client-facing and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage projects independently with minimal supervisionStrong programme management and subcontractor coordination experienceExperience working on projects valued between £1m and £5m+SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualificationsWhat's on Offer?High-profile £2m CAT B office fit-out projectLong-term contract running through to early next yearOpportunity to take full ownership of a projectSupportive and well-established fit-out contractorPotential pipeline of future projects upon successful delivery
