We are working with a well-established, multidisciplinary infrastructure consultancy to recruit a Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of major capital programmes across the Water and Environment sectors, based in the Midlands.
This is a client-facing, consultancy role offering long-term career progression across regulated UK infrastructure sectors including Water, Environment, Rail, and Nuclear.
The RoleReporting to the UK Project Management Delivery Lead, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for delivering end-to-end project management services for water companies and environmental bodies, operating client-side on complex, high-value programmes.
The successful candidate will bring strong NEC3/NEC4 contract management expertise, experience across the full project lifecycle, and the ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesGeneralClient-side management and administration of NEC3 / NEC4 ECC contracts (Options A, C & E)Budget control and cost managementWorking closely with Commercial and Quantity Surveying teams on:Monthly payment valuations and certifications under ECC and PSC contractsActual cost forecasting and Defined Cost determinationBuilding and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholdersMaintaining robust project and commercial records in line with contract requirementsPreparing and issuing contractual correspondence, including:Early Warning NoticesCompensation Event notificationsGeneral contractual communications in line with best practicePre-Contract ActivitiesProject scoping, feasibility studies, and cost estimatesPreparation of tender documentationTender evaluation and recommendationIdentification of project risks and development of mitigation strategiesEarly engagement with contractors during the design phase (ECI / ESI)Post-Contract ActivitiesAdministration of construction contractsMonitoring of project expenditure and cashflowLeading the assessment and negotiation of variations and change controlClaims management and dispute resolutionFinal accounts and post-project evaluationAbout YouTo be considered for this role, you will have:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a numerate disciplineFull membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. MAPM or equivalent)Significant post-graduate experience in Water, Environment, Rail and/or Nuclear sectorsProven client-side experience, including work for a main contractor and/or joint ventureStrong working knowledge of the NEC3/NEC4 suite of contracts (Options A, C & E essential)Experience with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and/or Early Subcontractor Involvement (ESI)Line management and mentoring experienceSound knowledge of CDM RegulationsStrong risk management capabilityValid CSCS card (Water Hygiene card desirable)Right to work in the UKWillingness to work on-site 3 days per week in the MidlandsWhat's on OfferStructured career development and supported route to chartershipAccess to professional training and continuous developmentOpportunity to work on nationally significant infrastructure projectsA values-led organisation with a strong focus on sustainability and social responsibilityAn inclusive and supportive working environment
