Are you ready to take your career to the next level?
We're working with a well-established building services consultancy who are seeking a dynamic Principal Electrical Design Engineer (or above) to step into a key leadership role. This is a unique opportunity to shape major projects worth up to £300m, lead a talented engineering team, and directly influence the future direction of the practice.

The Opportunity

As Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge, sustainable electrical design across sectors including residential, commercial, education, and mixed-use developments. You'll have full ownership of the design process from concept to completion (RIBA Stages 1-6), while leading and mentoring a growing team of 8 engineers.

This is a highly client-facing role - your expertise and ability to build strong relationships will be central to driving success, both technically and commercially.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading and delivering electrical design on high-profile projects up to £300m.

Acting as the main client interface, strengthening long-term relationships.

Managing and mentoring a team of engineers, creating an environment for growth and technical excellence.

Overseeing design delivery across all RIBA stages.

Ensuring compliance with regulations, standards, and best practice.

Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and external partners.

Playing an active role in business development and helping shape the consultancy's growth.

What You'll Bring

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or similar.

Proven experience within building services electrical design.

A track record of leading major projects and managing teams.

Excellent technical knowledge of electrical systems, sustainable design, and industry standards.

Strong client-facing and communication skills - this is essential.

The confidence to take ownership of projects and deliver at the highest level.

What's on Offer

Salary up to £70,000 (DOE).

20 days holiday + bank holidays (plus 1 extra day per year of service, up to 5).
