MEP Director - Growth & Sector Lead

We're working on a confidential senior appointment with an established Building Services, Low Carbon and Sustainability consultancy that is looking to strengthen its London operation.

This is not a traditional Business Development role. The position sits at a senior strategic level, combining growth, client development, market positioning and technical understanding to help shape the next stage of the business.

You'll have the opportunity to influence how the business goes to market, develop key relationships and help build a stronger presence across London and the surrounding regions.

As MEP Director - Growth & Sector Lead, you'll take a leading role in identifying and securing new opportunities across MEP design and sustainability.

You'll develop strategic relationships with developers, architects, contractors, consultants and other key stakeholders, identifying where the business can add value and turning those relationships into long-term opportunities.

A key part of the role will be building and managing a strong pipeline, from identifying opportunities through to bids, negotiations and successful appointment.

You'll work closely with senior leadership and technical teams to ensure the services being taken to market reflect what clients actually need.

The role also gives you the opportunity to influence the market positioning and direction of the business.

You'll help identify target sectors and key accounts, monitor market trends and competitor activity, and develop strategies around where the business should focus its growth.

There is also scope to raise the profile of the business through industry events, thought leadership, professional networks and strategic partnerships, positioning the consultancy as a leader in low-energy, low-carbon and sustainable design.

For major opportunities, you'll work alongside technical teams during briefing and concept development to ensure projects transition successfully into delivery.

You'll be joining a consultancy with a strong reputation for MEP, low-energy design, building performance and sustainability, supported by expertise across its wider group structure.

The business has a genuinely integrated technical offering, with the ability to bring together MEP, sustainability, building physics, energy and low-carbon expertise to provide commercially viable solutions for clients.

This gives you a strong platform from which to build relationships and develop new sectors rather than selling a single service in isolation.

We're looking for someone with a proven track record in business development, growth or strategic client development within engineering consultancy, MEP, sustainability or the wider built environment.

You may come from a technical engineering background and have moved into a commercial/growth role, or you may already be operating in a senior business development or sector leadership position.

You'll need to be commercially astute, highly networked and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.

An existing network across developers, contractors, architects, consultants or other built environment organisations would be highly valuable.

Technical knowledge of MEP, sustainability, low-carbon design or building performance is important, but this is ultimately a role for someone who can build relationships, identify opportunities and turn them into revenue.

This is a chance to take on a genuinely influential position where your relationships, market knowledge and commercial judgement can directly shape the growth of a business.

You'll have access to senior leadership, responsibility for key client relationships and the freedom to develop new opportunities across London and beyond.
