The Opportunity

A highly regarded construction contractor specialising in luxury residential refurbishments, bespoke fit-out projects, and premium commercial interiors is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team.

The business has built an outstanding reputation for delivering exceptional projects across London and the South East, working on high-end private residences, listed buildings, luxury apartments, commercial office refurbishments, and specialist fit-out schemes.

This role offers the opportunity to take commercial responsibility for a diverse portfolio of prestigious projects, working closely with directors, project managers, clients, consultants, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the commercial aspects of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projectsPreparing budgets, cost plans, and tender documentationReviewing drawings, specifications, and contract requirementsProcuring subcontractors and negotiating packages of workPreparing and submitting valuations and interim applicationsManaging variations and change control processesMonitoring project costs, profitability, and cash flowAssessing and agreeing subcontractor applications and final accountsIdentifying and mitigating commercial risksProducing accurate commercial reports and forecastsSupporting operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budgetMaintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industryStrong background in luxury residential, refurbishment, fit-out, or commercial interior projectsSound knowledge of construction contracts and commercial proceduresExcellent negotiation and procurement skillsStrong financial and analytical capabilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsHigh levels of organisation and attention to detailDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline preferredFull UK driving licence preferred

This role will involve a split between site and office, overseeing projects within the drylining division, typically ranging in value from £50k up to £4m.

In addition to drylining, the business delivers a wide range of services including partitioning, plastering, suspended ceilings, carpentry, structural framing systems, and full fit-out packages.

They work in partnership with a number of Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, with notable clients including Laing O'Rourke, BAM, Wates, and Mace.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring strong financial control, effective risk management, and cost certainty throughout the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, and senior commercial staff to support successful, high-quality project delivery.
