An established and growing building services consultancy is looking to recruit an Intermediate to Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its expanding team.
The business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality MEP design across a diverse portfolio of projects, with particular expertise in large-scale residential and mixed-use developments, alongside commercial, education, healthcare, industrial and leisure schemes.
Combining the technical capability of a larger consultancy with the culture of an independent business, you'll work closely with experienced engineers and senior leaders, giving you the opportunity to gain exposure to clients, project leadership and technical decision-making from an early stage.
The Opportunity
This is much more than a traditional design role.
You'll be trusted to take ownership of projects, collaborate directly with clients and design teams, and play an active role in delivering innovative, practical engineering solutions from concept through to completion.
As your experience grows, you'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, lead projects and develop your client-facing consultancy skills.
What You'll Be Doing
* Designing electrical building services systems from concept through to construction
* Producing calculations, specifications and technical reports
* Developing designs using AutoCAD and Revit
* Coordinating with mechanical, structural and architectural teams
* Attending client meetings, workshops and design reviews
* Responding to contractor queries and supporting projects through construction
* Reviewing technical designs to ensure quality and compliance
* Contributing to sustainable, low-energy building solutions
About You
You'll ideally have:
* 3-7 years experience within a building services consultancy
* Experience delivering electrical building services designs across residential and commercial projects
* Proficiency with AutoCAD and ideally Revit
* Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance
* Strong communication and client-facing skills
* A proactive attitude with the ambition to continue developing professionally
* Working towards Chartership would be highly advantageous and fully supported.
