We are partnering with Ireland's largest MEP consultancy, an internationally recognised Engineering business with over 300 employees and ambitious plans to grow to more than 1,000 professionals globally over the next 3-4 years.

This is a fully remote opportunity for South African-based Electrical Engineers, offering the chance to work on some of Europe's most prestigious hyperscale data centre developments while remaining based in South Africa. The role also includes occasional international travel for client meetings, project workshops, and site visits across Europe and other global locations.

Backed by strong private equity investment and experiencing rapid expansion, the business has positioned itself as a market leader within the mission-critical sector, with approximately 90% of its workload focused on Data Centre projects for hyperscale clients.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of large-scale, technically complex data centre projects from concept through to completion. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, engage directly with international clients, and contribute to the delivery of mission-critical infrastructure that underpins global digital connectivity.

Requirements
* Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
* Strong experience within Building Services consultancy environments
* Proven electrical design experience including power distribution, lighting, standby
power systems, UPS, generators, and earthing systems
* Experience delivering large-scale or complex projects
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Highly Desirable
* Data Centre or Mission Critical project experience
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
* South African PrEng or PrTech registration (strongly advantageous due to alignment
with Irish chartership pathways)
* Candidates from a mining, heavy industry, or large-scale infrastructure background
will also be strongly considered due to their exposure to high-power, resilience-
focused electrical systems and complex operational environments

The Opportunity

You'll play a key role in leading the electrical design and delivery of large-scale MOJ and commercial projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with clients, design teams, and junior engineers, you'll have the opportunity to influence project direction, mentor emerging talent, and contribute to innovative, sustainable engineering solutions.

What They're Looking For
5+ years' experience within Electrical Building Services Engineering
Proven experience delivering projects across all RIBA stages
Strong technical design capability with a practical, solutions-driven mindset
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Chartered Engineer status or actively working toward Chartership
A proactive attitude with the ability to lead projects and mentor others

Your Responsibilities
Lead the electrical design and coordination of major MOJ and commercial developments
Deliver projects from feasibility through to handover
Provide technical leadership and support across multidisciplinary teams
Mentor and develop junior engineers within the business
Ensure compliance with technical standards, regulations, and sustainability objectives
Drive innovation and contribute to modern engineering solutions
Play an active role in the consultancy's growth and long-term success
