THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a sustainability consultant to support the delivery of environmentally responsible workplace and commercial interior projects.

You will work alongside designers, project managers, clients and suppliers to develop practical sustainability strategies, support certification processes and provide advice on materials, performance and reporting.

This position would suit someone who understands how sustainability principles apply specifically to workplace design, interior fit-out and material selection.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and support sustainability strategies for workplace and commercial interior projects.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Professional experience in sustainability, environmental design or building performance.
Experience supporting interior, workplace, property or broader built-environment projects.
Understanding of WELL, LEED or other relevant sustainability frameworks.
Knowledge of sustainable materials, responsible sourcing and circular-design principles.
Strong research, analysis and report-writing capability.
Ability to communicate technical sustainability topics clearly to designers and non-specialist clients.
Strong organisational and project-coordination skills.
Ability to work effectively with international and multidisciplinary teams.
Professional written and spoken English.

ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE

WELL AP, LEED AP or a comparable professional accreditation.
Experience supporting or managing certification submissions.

A growing, design-led sustainability consultancy is looking to hire an Intermediate - Senior Sustainability Consultant with a strong focus on Whole Life Carbon (WLC) and Circular Economy.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 3-5 years' experience who wants to take real ownership of their work, lead on projects, and play a key role in shaping low-carbon design strategies across a diverse portfolio.

The Opportunity
You'll be joining a collaborative team working closely with architects, developers and engineers on projects across commercial, residential, education, healthcare and heritage sectors.
The role offers a strong focus on embodied carbon and circular economy, with the chance to:

Lead WLC and Circular Economy strategies from early design stagesInfluence material choices and design decisionsWork directly with clients and multidisciplinary teamsBroaden your skillset into building physics and wider sustainability services (if of interest)

This is an ideal move for someone who enjoys both the technical side of carbon analysis and the consultancy side of influencing design outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading and delivering Whole Life Carbon (WLC) assessmentsDeveloping Circular Economy strategies and advising on reuse and low-carbon materialsProducing reports to support planning and design decision-makingWorking closely with design teams to drive practical, low-carbon solutionsAttending and contributing to client and design team meetingsSupporting wider sustainability services across projects

Optional (depending on experience):

Delivering building physics / energy modelling (IES-VE)Supporting Part L compliance, overheating analysis and thermal comfort studies

What They're Looking For

3-5years' experience in a sustainability or environmental consultancyStrong experience delivering Whole Life Carbon assessmentsGood understanding of Circular Economy principles in the built environmentExperience using tools such as OneClick LCA (or similar)Ability to manage and deliver work independentlyStrong communication skills and confidence working with design teams

Nice to have (not essential):

Experience with IES-VE / building physics modellingKnowledge of Part L, TM52, TM59 or thermal comfortFamiliarity with BREEAM or other frameworks
