Job Description:
We are currently looking for a proactive and self-sufficient Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual keen to progress in their Quantity Surveying career while managing projects with limited supervision from senior management.
In this role, you will have the chance to take full ownership of your own projects, from initial stages through to final completion, with the support of a collaborative and experienced team. You will be expected to work independently, managing your responsibilities and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the preparation and management of cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.
Monitor project costs and assist in the financial reporting and management of projects.
Ensure that projects are delivered within the specified time, cost, and quality requirements.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers as required.
Conduct site visits and assist in measuring and valuing work done.
Assist in contract administration and negotiation.
Provide advice and assistance in managing risk, project scope, and variations.
Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation in line with project requirements.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or working towards).
At least 1-2 years of relevant experience as an Assistant QS, with a solid understanding of surveying practices.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage tasks independently, demonstrating a proactive approach.
Good knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and relevant surveying software.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
