The Role
They're seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Building Services team in London. You'll be working on a diverse portfolio of projects, with around 70% of their work in the custodial sector (HM Prisons) and the remainder in commercial and public buildings.
The prison sector offers unique and rewarding technical challenges - far beyond what most expect. Within each facility, you'll find integrated environments that combine healthcare, fitness, accommodation, and high-security systems - all designed with a deep commitment to sustainability.
They're proud to have delivered the UK's first all-electric, net-zero prison, leading the way in supporting the Ministry of Justice's commitment to carbon reduction through innovative, fully electric systems powered by solar panels, heat pumps, and smart energy design.
What They're Looking For
- 3+ year's relevant Building Services design experience (consultancy or contractor background).
- Strong technical ability, from concept to technical
- Client-facing confidence - capable of leading design elements and attending DTM/site meetings.
- A genuine passion for sustainable design and technical excellence.
