Quantity Surveyor - Water Infrastructure

We are currently supporting a well-established infrastructure consultancy in their search for a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Water sector team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to work on major UK water infrastructure programmes, operating client-side on regulated projects for water companies and environmental bodies, with long-term progression available within the wider infrastructure portfolio.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial and contractual support across the full project lifecycle, working closely with Project Managers, clients, and supply chain partners to ensure effective cost control, compliance, and value delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Contract Management
- Client-side administration of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts (Option A, C and E)
- Budget control, cost forecasting, and cost reporting
- Preparing and assessing monthly valuations and payment applications
- Defined Cost assessment and compensation event support
- Maintaining accurate and contract-compliant commercial records
Pre-Contract
- Cost planning and feasibility studies
- Input into procurement strategies and tender documentation
- Risk identification and early cost advice
Post-Contract
- Ongoing cost control and change management
- Supporting the evaluation of variations and compensation events
- Assisting with final accounts and commercial close-out
Stakeholder Engagement
- Building strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, and contractors
- Supporting senior commercial staff where required
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Working towards RICS chartership (APC) or recently chartered
- Post-graduate experience within the Water or wider infrastructure sector
- Working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts
- Strong cost management and commercial administration skills
- Ability and willingness to work on site regularly

- Water Hygiene card
- Experience working client-side or within a consultancy environment
