We are currently representing a leading construction consultancy in their search for a motivated and conscientious H&S CDM Principal Designer to join their dynamic and growing team.

**What does the role involve?**
As an H&S/CDM Principal Designer, you will provide clients with comprehensive advice on all aspects of Health & Safety and CDM Regulations. You will play a key role in managing design risk and fulfilling Principal Designer duties across projects, from feasibility through to the handover of the Health and Safety File.
**Responsibilities**
* Act as Principal Designer and ensure client duties are fulfilled under CDM 2015
* Plan, coordinate, and manage the pre-construction phase of projects, including submission of F10 notifications to the HSE
* Advise clients and project teams on health and safety and design risk management throughout design and construction
* Ensure design team compliance with CDM 2015, reviewing and supporting Design Risk Assessments
* Prepare and review key health and safety documentation, including pre-construction information, risk assessments, method statements, and Health & Safety Files
* Conduct site audits and monitor health and safety performance on behalf of the client
* Attend design, site, and progress meetings to support effective communication between stakeholders
* Provide support to senior consultants on complex or high-risk projects
* Review O&M manuals and ensure accurate and compliant handover documentation
* Uphold health and safety standards and contribute to environmental and social impact initiatives
* Carry out additional duties in line with the role as required
**Requirements**
* IOSH or Association for Project Safety qualification (or working towards)
* Previous experience in a similar H&S/CDM role
* Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and their implementation
* Good understanding of wider Health & Safety legislation
* Experience using a range of risk management tools, from basic risk registers to more advanced risk modelling software
* Ability to provide clear, practical advice to clients and support the development of effective risk mitigation strategies
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-facing approach
* Ability to produce high-quality documentation in line with company standards
* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
